Should the medical profession be compelled by law to report abuse of patients by colleagues?
It depends on your morals. Many people believe that if they witness a crime, they must report it to police. This is not true, you are not required to report it, unless you are somehow aiding or abetting the crime committed. For Example: You are the passenger in a car, while the owner of the car, who is driving, pushes another car off the road. You are not required to report it, unless it is your car, because you are only a witness. The only time you legally have to talk about it (or say nothing) is unless you are asked about it by law enforcement. Then, you have to come clean about it, or say nothing, just do not lie, as that is against the law.
