I need some help pleassssse!!?

So I was on my facebook looking at old messages. When I was looking through them I came along messages I deleted. How is this possible cause I could sware I deleted them. But, the messages I deleted are suddenly back again? Does that mean that whoever I was talking to deleted the message and now I get them back I dont get it. I really just need help thanks.
